An old man in his eighties slowly rose from his armchair and began putting on his coat.
His wife looked up from her knitting and asked, “Where are you going at this hour?”
He cleared his throat and said, “I’m going to the doctor.”
Concerned, she asked, “Why? Are you feeling sick?”
“No,” he replied calmly. “I’m going to get me some of those new Via4ra pills everyone’s talking about.”
His wife’s eyebrows shot up. Without a word, she stood, reached for her sweater, and began getting dressed as well.
Surprised, the old man asked, “And where do you think you’re going?”
She looked at him with a perfectly straight face and said, “I’m going to the doctor too.”
“Why?” he asked, puzzled.
She gave him a slow, knowing smile and said,
“Well, if you’re planning to start using that rusty old thing again, I’m going to need a tetanus shot first.”
